Paint markings and flags marking underground utility lines must stay in place until the install is complete. Don't deactivate your current internet or phone until Joink has fully completed installation.
The scheduled window is 4 hours; most installs take up to 2 hours. An adult (18+) must be on-site at all times. Secure pets and clear the area for router placement. Special layout or access considerations? Communicate before scheduling — we can arrange a call with the ISP Supervisor.
Fiber is buried to the home in underground conduit. A NID is installed outside, connecting the underground drop to interior fiber. We enter through a sealed 3/8" hole (crawl space, attic, basement, or wall) — never through floors. We can't reuse existing coax holes, so current service stays intact until Joink is live.
Team 1 (outside) buries the fiber conduit and installs the NID. Team 2 (inside) runs interior cable and sets up your router. Internet and voice are generally two separate appointments — fiber install comes first. Unique entry point or layout needs? Communicate before scheduling via your LOE agent.
Don't cancel your current landline until Joink confirms the number has ported. You'll get an email or call to begin the transfer — respond promptly. We'll notify you once it's safe to cancel your previous phone service.
Invoices are sent on the 17th and due the 1st. The first bill is always the largest — it covers partial days from install plus the upcoming full month. Paperless billing is free; paper billing adds $3.95/mo. Pay online at joink.com (a Web User account can be enabled at time of order). Auto Pay saves $5/mo — set it up at joink.com or by calling 812.234.5100.
You'll receive a confirmation text and call before your appointment. You must respond to confirm, or you'll be removed from the schedule — and being removed can mean waiting up to 2 weeks to reschedule. Reschedule via Scheduling at 812.234.5100, option 4.
